Experience Spring in Botswana!
November is one of the best times for photography in Botswana, if not the best! It's the time for birthing and new growth, and a carpet of green grass means we have beautiful backdrops. The impending arrival of rain, means there is magnificent build up of clouds. Summer migrant birds have arrived and the predators are hungry!
Travel with me and discover the most prolific wildlife regions of Botswana in early summer; the Central Kalahari Game reserve and the Moremi Game Reserve (Okavango Delta). By camping in tents, we are able to get close to the earth and tread lightly in this pristine wilderness. View photos from my last Botswana camping safari. (a different itinerary which included Savuti, Chobe and Vic Falls)

DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1 - Maun
We stay in Maun the night before we leave because we have an early departure and we need to stock up on our drinks and a few other items before we leave.
Day 2, 3, 4 - Central Kalahari Game Reserve
After the summer rains arrive in the northern section of CKGR, from Deception Valley to Piper Pans, the vast plains burst with sweet grasses and it becomes one of the prime game-viewing areas in Botswana. Not many people seem to be aware of this and visitors are few. The clear blue sky fills with gigantic clouds and the stage is set for an amazing transformation. Into the scene enters thousands of gemsbok, springbok and wildebeest, with plentiful lion, cheetah and jackal in attendance.
Day 5, 6, 7, 8 - Moremi Game Reserve, western side (Okavango Delta)
Getting from CKGR to Moremi is a fair drive, so we take it easy and plan to arrive and set up camp in Moremi.
A beautiful part of the delta, we cover this area extensively in search of wildlife amongst beautiful forests, floodplains and open grassy plains. This area is rich in predators and general game, elephants are everywhere in Botswana.
Day 9, 10, 11 - Moremi Game Reserve, eastern side (Okavango Delta)
Another beautiful part of the delta, where mopane forest opens up to Camelthorn forests and meets the floodplain. Elephants abound along with predators and general game. We also go on a mokoro trip (depending on water levels) to experience the water and perhaps see elephants crossing or splashing around in the channel.
Day 12 - Maun or fly out, depending on flights.
